Kapamilya stars join the Panagbenga

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Fans from the North were overwhelmed when Kapamilya stars recently joined the Panagbenga Festival or popularly known as Flower Festival in Baguio City.

They crowded SM City Baguio’s The Drive to catch a glimpse of ABS-CBN’s Sabel stars Joseph Marco and Jessy Mendiola. Joseph made jaws drop with his rendition of Ngiti and Just the Way You Are while Jessy sang Taylor Swift’s Love Story and chose one lucky guy from the audience to accompany her while she finished her song.

Melissa Ricks and Matt Evans;

Ladies in the crowd swooned as Matt Evans performed two songs and sent the rest of the audience screaming in delight. When it was Melissa Ricks’ turn to mount the stage, the crowd almost in unison fished out their respective cameras to capture the Nasaan Ka Elisa? star’s smile and her performance. The primetime loveteam — Melissa and Matt — charmed the audience and came back for a duet of Way Back Into Love.

Sabel leading man Diether Ocampo further brightened the evening with his presence. Diether performed two song numbers including Frankie Valli’s Can’t Take My Eyes Off You and even shook the fans’ hands. Security personnel had to tighten their watch as fans shoved against each other to touch, kiss and hug him or simply to get a good angle for their cameras.
