Into the web of lies

MANILA, Philippines - SOLARtv’s Lie to Me Season Two has been filled with episodes surrounding Lightman’s (Tim Roth) past and how he has grown to become a pompous human being, a man who cares about his daughter, as well as an intelligent human lie detector.

In Episode 18, Headlock, another facet of Dr. Lightman’s personality came out and landed him in hot water. Raul (Rick Gonzalez), the boxer he was trying to help died after an illegal boxing match.

Lightman doesn’t want the head FBI agent to know he’s involved. And he’s pompous enough to think he can get away with it. He even draws Agent Reynolds (Mekhi Phifer) into the web of lies, asking him to delay the DNA test. Torres (Monica Raymund) gets herself involved when she deletes a video clip showing her boss at the fight, which Lightman doesn’t mind all that much.

Meanwhile, Foster (Kelli Williams) has troubles of her own. She’s fallen in love with Dr. Burns (Max Martini) from Episode 16, Delinquent, until she finds out he has a fake passport. The forgery is quickly explained though; Burns works undercover for the DEA. All is well, in the end, in Foster’s world — and same goes for Lightman.

While none of Lightman’s contacts in the boxing world really helps him, he finds salvation in the videotape.

Lie To Me airs Thursday nights at 7.
