Nina, Kamikazee lead Warner’s OPM hits

Warner Music Phils. presents a power-packed roster of the most popular OPM acts today, including the current toast of the acoustic scene and MTV Pilipinas Best New Artist, Nina, the new prodigies of the rock scene and MTV Pilipinas Best Video recipient, Kamikazee, the dynamic threesome of folk-pop-rock, Barbie’s Cradle, and D’ Jackpot Boy, Quickie.

Nina is the most visible female artist these days, with a gold record debut album, chart-topping singles, sold-out performances, and Best New Artist honors Nina’s Heaven spawned three of the biggest OPM songs to hit the airwaves in recent memory: the soothing ballad Jealous, the upbeat R&B track Second Floor, and the soulful remake Foolish Heart, skyrocketing her debut album past the gold record mark and making it the No. 1 selling album to date.

The hits just keep on coming as Warner Music releases a repackaged Heaven album entitled Nina Special Edition which includes acoustic versions of Heaven and Jealous, and theme songs, Talk To Me and Simula together with Nina’s best loved No. 1 hits.

Kamikazee, a five-man band known for their punk music and a generous dose of effervescent humor, makes a loud statement on the local rock scene with their self-titled debut album. The band made quite a ruckus grabbing the MTV Best Video award for the Bioman-inspired Lucky music video directed by Avid Liongoren. The band is also responsible for one of this year’s biggest rock anthem, Tsinelas and the equally amusing Mmm Sarrrap.

Barbie’s Cradle remains in the forefront of the local rock scene with their latest album Playing In The Fields, a 10-track collection of soulful pop-folk anthems including the hits All I Need and Everyday. Both fans’ and critics’ favorites, Barbie’s Cradle–composed of Barbie Almalbis on vocals and guitars, Wendell Garcia on drums, and Rommel dela Cruz on bass–has maintained a distinct, crowd-endearing sound without sacrificing their creativity, all of which are captured in their latest outing.

Quickie, Warner Music’s first rap artist, strikes juicy hits with his album Quickie Tayo. Armed with bone-tickling words amid forceful rhymes, Quickie is fast rising as rap’s legit hitmaker with infectious ditties Jimompet and Gina Calls Me hot on the airwaves.

Warner Music releases a Platinum Video Collection for those who like their sound-trip more visually stimulating.
