PULP’s sizzling summer issues

Every summer for three years now, PULP Magazine stages the year’s biggest concert. This time, it is set on April 30. Aptly called the Summer Slam, this fantastic marriage of light, sound and primal energy assembles over 30 of the country’s hottest bands slugging it out in front of no less than 35,000 screaming fans in today’s biggest venues. Veteran observer Ramon Zialcita takes a look back at the Slam’s turbulent and exciting history, while PULP’s editorial staff develops an exhaustive Who’s Who of bands playing this year’s Slam at the Amoranto Stadium.

In case you decide to risk life and limb for this incredible night of rock n’ roll, you better leaf through this issue for its wacky survival guide, cheekily illustrated by resident artist Bernie Sim, and get to know those big, black-shirted hulks that protect you from yourself (and flying mineral bottles of piss), in an article about bouncers by Joey Dizon, as well as the insane folks that get the event done, in Behind The Slam by editor-in-chief Vernon Go.

Get to know cover girl Patricia Javier as she bares heart, body and soul to writer Luis Katigbak.
