An 'outbreak' party ushers in Amoeba

The invitation sent out by the lady boss, Vivian Sarabia of the Sarabia Optical, said it all: Bring as many original CDs and get paid; bring any pirated and get crashed!!!

The affair, held last Oct. 26, was the "outbreak" party (songs and dances galore) that ushered in Amoeba (at the Eastwood City Walk, E. Rodriguez Ave., Libis, Quezon City), the newest landmark in the entertainment scene "where the latest may come from the oldest styles and concepts."

You bring old CDs or VHS (movies), even 78 rpm/45 rpm records (in vogue during the ’50s and ’60s), and exchange them for cash.

Housed in a four-storey building, Amoeba is a music place, a movie place, a food place, a book/magazine place – it’s an all-around "anti-body organism" that also helps promote anti-piracy campaign for intellectual property rights.

Anyway, you have to visit it to enjoy it.

Shown on this page are among the celebrities who graced the "Amoeba Outbreak" made lively by performers like Gary Valenciano, Jamie Rivera, Lani Misalucha, Vina Morales, Carol Banawa, Troy Montero, Marc Nelson, Amy Perez, Cookie Chua, Color It Red, Powerplay Band and Freeverse.
