Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Southeast Asia Cup heads to Manila
MANILA, Philippines — Sega is bringing its first major Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds esports tournament to Southeast Asia, with top competitors from across the region set to battle for a spot in a live grand finals event in Manila later this year.
The Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Southeast Asia Cup will feature 400 players competing through a pair of online tournaments, with the top finishers earning invitations to the offline SEGA x TikTok Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Southeast Asia Cup to be held in the Philippines.
The regional competition will begin with its first online session on July 25, while the second online session is scheduled for October 4. Participation is free and open to eligible players aged 18 and above.
According to Sega, the tournament is designed to give players across platforms an opportunity to compete against the region's best racers before advancing to the live event in Manila that features a total prize pool of $20,000, with invited competitors advancing from both online qualifiers. Participants will also receive event-exclusive rewards, while top performers in the online stages will earn special Discord titles, commemorative merchandise, and invitations to the offline championship.
Released in September 2025, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is the latest racing title from Sega featuring cross-platform play and the biggest roster in the franchise's history. Alongside Sonic characters, the game includes guest racers from franchises such as Persona 5, Like a Dragon, Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants and PAC-MAN.
Players can compete in a variety of online modes, including 12-player races, team-based events, and time trials, with full crossplay support connecting competitors across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC.
