Casinillo, Abella lead winners in Recovery Run
CEBU, Philippines — Jerome Casinillo and Lizanne Abella shined the brightest among the winners as Spectrum Runners dominated the RC Goldline Half Marathon Recovery Run 2022 at the Cebu Business Park yesterday.
Casinillo reigned supreme in the premiere men’s 21-kilometer action with a personal best time of 1:13:47. His teammate Florendo Lapiz finished second in 1:17:23, while Kenyan Eric Chipsiror wound up third in 1:18:40.
It was also a 1-2 finish for Spectrum bets in the women's 21K with Abella coming out on top with a 1:41:09 clocking followed by Evamie Villarin in 1:44:51. Josephine Rodriguez placed third in 1:50:20.
In the men's 12K battle, Spectrum's Mark Mahinay (41:36) and Prince Joey Lee (42:06) swept the top two spots with Kenyan Joseph Mururi settling for third in 44:38.
Asia Paraase, also of Spectrum, lorded it over the distaff side with a time of 51:16. The next two places were occupied by Mariel Estreba (53:19) and Cherry Andrin (55:14).
Spectrum runners completed their domination in the 6K division through Jovan Bensig (20:19) and Rinmarch Gonzaga (20:50) and Ysabel Baldos (29:47).
Moira Eridiano and Jessie Abelgos stole part of the limelight after stamping their classes in the 3K with a time of 15:15 and 12:19, respectively.
Organized by RC Goldline through its president Christina Paro-an in partnership with the Philippine Retailers Association-Cebu Chapter and Metro Cebu Uptown Jaycees, the first actual run in the province since the outbreak of the global pandemic two years ago aims to drum up Cebu's road to economic recovery.
