260 riders to join Cebu Epic
CEBU, Philippines — A total of 260 cyclists will vie for supremacy in the second edition of Cebu Epic 2019, a cross country marathon mountain bike race, slated on June 9.
Organized by Team Big Ring Race and Adventure, the two-man team race features the full epic (80km) and mini epic (55km) categories. It has the open, women’s and age-group divisions.
The 80-kilometer bike route will traverse the mountains of Cebu and Toledo City.
Aside from the local riders, participants coming from Davao, Negros, Bohol, Surigao, Cagayan De Oro have confirmed their participation. International cyclists from United Kingdom and Singapore will also provide challenge for the Pinoy riders.
Some of Cebu’s top cyclists Nino Surban, Joseph Miller and Dongkey Sanchez are set to compete in the event along with their respective groups.
The champion in each of the full distance will pocket P5,000 plus a trophy.
Proceeds of the event will be spent on Team Big Ring Race and Adventure’s annual medical mission, which is “Operation Tuli.”
