Kenyans win back-to-back races

CEBU, Philippines - Kenyans Josphat Too Kiptanoi and Abraham Missos scored back-to-back victories after dominating yesterday’s 5th Pink October Run at the Ayala Center-Cebu Terraces.

Josphat won another 10-km title with a time of 35:41.94 over Robert Daang who had 35:43.31 as William Plona came out third with 39:58.78.

Missos, for his part, still did the 5-km run and posted 19:28.03 for the top spot.

Dandy Maturan was second with 21:11.64 while Charlie Berbio was third with 22:02.66.

Merlita Arias Dunkin, on the other hand, placed first in the 10-km run with 53:16.17 over Mary Ann Benedicto with 53:40.59 while Pamela Apuhin was third with 55:48.14.

Keiko Shimogama, on the other hand, reigned supreme in the women’s 5-km class with 33:57.09 as against Zyldjyh Portuguez with 35:22.44 as Sharon Cabal wound up third with 37:02.57.

The 3-km action had Daniel Cardenas and Cherry Lee Apiag ruled their respective classes.

Cardenas ruled the men’s 3-km with 15:22.13 followed by Kent Nastor with 17:40.18 and Axel Elesas at third spot with 20:44.83.

Apiag outsmarted 25:46.91 as against Cherlyn Campugan’s 26:59.41 while Candice Alinabo with 27.57.82 clocking. - THE FREEMAN
