Black clinches SFAA cage crown

CEBU – The Nestor Kyamko-led Black drubbed the Gold squad, 83-70, to snatch the championship of the Still Fighting Athletic Association (SFAA) 2nd Conference Inter-Color basketball tournament at the CEC gym.

It was a see-saw battle for most of the way, but Black started to gain momentum after it took a slim 54-52 lead at the end of the third period behind the efforts of Jun Seno, Ricky Misa and Paul Ocampo.

Black kept its offense going in the final period, while in sharp contrast, the Gold cagers faded away and went ice-cold towards the end of the match.

With Dodong Edera and Roger Tan joining the fray, Team Black sailed on smoothly to the title-clinching victory.

Seno and Tan spearheaded Black with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Tony Piloton scored a game-high 16 points for Gold, while Harris Abonitalla and Nestor Casquejo had 22 points combined in a losing cause.

In the preliminary games, Blue claimed the third place honors after beating White, 98-87, while Asia Brewery Basketball Association (ABBA) crushed SFAA All-Stars, 91-77, in their goodwill encounter.
