Jubannie Abellar and seven other motocross riders will take center stage tonight during the awards ceremony of the 2007 MS Motosuit Motocross Series at the Cebu Grand Convention Center, this city.
Mayor Mariano Martinez of San Remegio and Mayor Neneth Reluya of San Fernando, along with Cebu City Sports Commissioner and The FREEMAN’s Managing Editor Nimrod Quiñones, will grace the event.
Abellar will receive the coveted Rider of the Year award, after collecting the most number of wins in 11 legs, of the 2007 motocross competitions.
The other awardees are John Flores (mini division), Ayen Ledesma (open enduro and beginner’s open production), Andot Rubi (executive A), Seigfred Ornopia (executive B), Paulo Inoc (novice open production) and Donkey Sanchez (local enduro).
A unit of Crypton motorcycle, donated by Keiz BZ’s Seigfred Ornopia, will be up for grabs in a raffle among the overall champions. The other attendees will have to be content with door prizes that include dirt bike accessories.
Aside from the riders, companies who supported the motocross series in 2007 will be given plaques of appreciation.
