Siguan wins overall title of Charity golf tournament

Joy Siguan may have shone the brightest among the players last Friday, but more than the exceptional golfing skills showed by the participants, the P1.2 million that was given away to various charities was still the highlight of the 7th Christmas Charity Fun Golf Tournament at the Cebu Country Club.

Siguan fired a gross 76 and her handicap 11 gave her a net 65 to win the overall title of the one-day tournament held to raise funds for many charitable institutions.

The beneficiaries of the tournament this year receiving various amounts were the Tzu Chi Foundation, Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF), Missionaries of Charity, The FREEMAN Foundation, San Isidro Labrador Parish in Daanbantayan, and Lupus Association of Cebu.

The tandem of Ramon Sebastian and Eddie Manzano topped the two-man team event as they shot 67 and 68 respectively for a total of 135 strokes.

Second place went to David Lu (73) and Raymond Tio (66) with 139 beating Dodong Siguan (70) and Andrew Co (69) in the countback.
