CCESET goes 24/7 to keep city clean
CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Environmental Sanitation and Enforcement Team (CCESET) has vowed to work 24/7 in ensuring a clean and Singapore-like city.
This is in line with Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama’s directive that he wants no more garbage, vandalism, and homeless people, among others, on the streets by June 12.
Before going full blast, CCESET Head, Engr. Ryan Macion, held an orientation seminar at the Cebu City Sports Institute for the more than 300 workers who will be deployed in different “hotspots” for garbage in the barangays.
They will be manning the identified hotspots 24/7 to ensure that there will no longer be residents throwing garbage in a non-designated garbage disposal area.
Macion said there will also be a new time to be set for garbage disposal which would already be from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. to those identified hotspots in the barangay.
The Department of Public Services (DPS) is also expected to put up signages to properly inform the residents of the “do’s” and “don’ts” in the garbage disposal as well as the time for disposal.
Meanwhile, all representatives of fraternities and sororities in the city had been invited to a meeting at the Mayor’s Office at 6 p.m. today to ask them to help in the beautification and cleanliness drive in the city, aside from helping keep the city peaceful and orderly.
These fraternities and sororities are also expected to help the projects and programs that the city government is undertaking in line with its Singapore-like vision. —/GAN (FREEMAN)
