3 suspects nabbed in drug busts

CEBU, Philippines —  At least three drug suspects were arrested and close to P2 million worth of suspected shabu was seized in simultaneous buy-bust operations conducted in Cebu City, Tuesday night, January 18, 2022.

The operations were hatched by the members of the Intelligence Unit of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) led by its chief, Police Lt. Colonel Clark Arriola.

The first buy-bust operation was conducted in Sitio Maaslom, Barangay Busay at aaround 8:15 p.m.

This resulted in the arrest of a certain Jalliy Mar Parojenog, 30, a resident of Sudlon, Barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City.

Authorities said that they confiscated from Parojenog 60 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P408,000.

On the same evening, the CIU conducted another buy-bust operation in Sitio Labsalex, Barangay Labangon, still in Cebu City.

Arrested was another suspect identified as certain Arjay Paler, 21, resident of the same area.

Seized from Paler were 10 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P68,000.

The last buy-bust operation was conducted by the CIU along V. Rama Street, Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu Coty at around 10 p.m.

This operation resulted in the arrest of Bambie Saballa, 31, a resident of Barangay Tabok, Mandaue City. It also resulted in the seizure of 180 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P1.2 million.

All suspects are now under police custody pending the filing of appropriate charges against them for violation of R.A. 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act. — KQD (FREEMAN)
