Minor car washer nabbed with shabu
CEBU, Philippines — A 16-year old car washer tagged as high-value individual was arrested by the members of the City Intelligence Unit in a buy-bust operation in Ayala Access Road, Brgy. Hipodromo, Cebu City early dawn yesterday.
Police Lt. Colonel Randy Caballes, chief of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Intelligence Unit, said the suspect's line of command for transaction came from the city jail.
"Pag naay mga orders, siya ang mohatud, siya ang distributor aning naa sa sulod sa city jail," Caballes told reporters.
He added, the suspect, whose name he refused to identify, started his engagement in illegal drug trading just this year.
In their investigation, Caballes also said that the suspect have other cohorts who have the same line of command from the city jail like him.
"High-value individual in regional level ni siya, tungod sa volume sa drugs nga nakuha sa iya, sa iyang distribution," he added.
The suspect's area of distribution includes Barangay Hipodromo where he lives, and other neighboring barangays like Mabolo.
The suspect could dispose from 150 to 200 grams of illegal drugs per week.
"Dinagko na ni iya," said Caballes.
Seized from the suspect was a 65-gram of suspected shabu with an estimated value of at least P442,000.
On the same day, another drug suspect included in the top 10 most wanted persons in regional level was also arrested by the same unit by virtue of a warrant of arrest.
Authorities identified him as certain Joseph Johnson Degamo, 36, a resident of Sitio Sandayong, Buhisan, Cebu City where he was arrested yesterday afternoon.
Degamo's warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Ma. Lynna Adviengo of the Regional Trial Court Branch 58 in Cebu City on February 1, 2021. — GMR (FREEMAN)
