CEBU, Philippines — Close to P11 million worth of suspected shabu was hauled in three separate operations of the authorities in Cebu province yesterday.

Maricol Pocong was first arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant served to him by elements from the PDEA-7 and NBI-7 in Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City.

Also recovered from his possession were 1.5 kilos of shabu worth P10.2 million.

After Pocong’s arrest, police conducted a follow-up operation at Peace Valley in Barangay Bulacao, Cebu City, which led to the arrest of Wynner Sayago, 40, resident of the place.

Sayago, who is said to be Pocong’s cohort, allegedly yielded 50 grams of shabu worth P300,000.

In another operation, Toledo City police seized nearly a million pesos worth of illegal drugs in Sitio Kurbada, Barangay Poong yesterday.

Those arrested were Vincent Taberos, 32, who is described as a high-level target in the provincial level.

Taberos yielded two small, two large, and six medium packs of shabu weighing a total of 100 grams and valued at P680,000.

Colonel Janet Rafter, chief of Toledo City Police Office who led the operation, said Taberos has been reported as a supplier of drugs in the city and neighboring towns.

Toledo police conducted a second operation in Barangay Bunga, where a certain Jorum Jay Paragoso, 29, resident of Barangay Don Andres Soriano, was arrested.

Among the items retrieved from him were 12 small and two medium sachets of drugs worth P71,000.
