Abrugena specified Minglanilla, Bantayan and Sta. Fe as areas of concerns and will be monitored closely by the Provincial Mobile Force Company.

He added that several government agencies convened prior to the Holy Week to make sure that a better security plan will be implemented this year.

He advised the public to be vigilant as lawless elements may take advantage of the influx of the number of persons in areas of convergence.

“Dapat we are mindful of our surroundings. Don’t wear expensive jewelry. Secondly, securely close your houses before leaving to avoid burglary,” he said.

In a related development, the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) is now on red alert status to ensure maximum security.
