P12.8 million shabu seized, 4 nabbed

Mae Clydyl L. Avila - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Drugs worth around P12.8 million were seized in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Cebu, Dumaguete, and Bohol.

Authorities netted P11.5 million worth of drugs after serving 12 search warrants which was part of the One Time Big Time (OTBT) operations in Bohol.

Around 11 million of which was confiscated from lone drug personality, 43-year-old Joseph Alburadora, who was arrested in Mansasa District, Tagbilaran City Wednesday evening.

Seized from Alburadora were 36 large and seven medium packs of shabu weighing 935 grams worth P11,033,000, a weighing scale, and three various bags.

Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) director Debold Sinas classified Alburadora as a large-scale distributor.

“He is a high-value target and we are checking if he really was a native of Bohol because it is possible that he is just crossing from one area to another,” Sinas said.

Sinas said Alburadora’s supply of drugs was not only intended for Bohol, but also for Cebu.

He said his office is already coordinating with law enforcement units in ports and airports to prevent any attempt to sneak in drugs into the region.

In a separate operation, operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7 recovered 150 grams of shabu worth P1,020,000 from Jocelyn Villegas, 42, in Purok Malinawon, Barangay Talay, Dumaguete City yesterday morning.

The Cebu Provincial Intelligence Branch personnel, on the other hand, confiscated P310,104 worth of shabu from Jomar Panilagao,47 and Jocelyn Doble, 32, in Susana Compound, Sitio Molave, Tabunok Talisay City yesterday dawn. — KBQ (FREEMAN)
