CEBU, Philippines —  Nine persons were arrested and more than P.5 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in several anti-drug operations in Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu City.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) -7 arrested one Andro Dullano, 42, in Barangay Calamba, Cebu City, Thursday afternoon and seized from him four medium packs of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P374,000.

PDEA-7 spokesperson Leia  Albiar said that they have been monitoring Dullano’s illegal drug activities in the area for several weeks prior to the operation.

Albiar added that Dullano's mother was arrested in 2016 in a raid for allegedly maintaining a drug den in the area.

There is a possibility that Dullano took over the illegal drug operation after his mother was arrested.

In Barangay Basak San Nicholas, police arrested Allam Amorado, 48, and seized from him four packs of shabu with an estimated value of P61,000.

In Lapu-Lapu City, six persons, including a security guard, were arrested in a separate buy-bust operations conducted by Lapu-Lapu City Police Office-City Intelligence Branch (LCPO-CIB) last Thursday.

Superintendent Mark Gifter Sucalit, chief of LCPO- CIB, said an estimated P20,768 worth of suspected shabu were confiscated from Avelino Mangubat, 37; Ana Pino, 38; Joshua Potot, 19; Alex Ferolino, 40; Julieta Berdin, 36; and 27-year-old security guard Denclear Badayos.
