Capitol employees to get 1 month mid-year bonus
CEBU, Philippines — The 1,500 casual and regular employees of the Capitol will receive a one month midyear bonus next week.
Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III ordered last week to release the bonus on May 15. Provincial Budget Officer Danilo Rodas said all employees who have been working in the provincial government for four months since July 1, 2017 are qualified to receive the bonus.
“(They will receive) one month basic salary provided nga duna kay four months in service and satisfactory rating nimo for the last grading period” Rodas said.
Rodas said that the bonus will also be subject to the provisions of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law.
“Below P20, 000 naay tax exemption gihapon, unya kung molapas na imong income sa P250,000 per year, naay tax na na” Rodas said.
However, those employees who have been suspended because of their cases are not entitled to the benefit.
Based on the Department of Budget and Management (BDM) memorandum circular, government employees including “regular, casual, contractual in nature, appointive or even elective, full-time, or part-time” are entitled of their mid-year bonus equivalent to their one month salary. — FPL (FREEMAN)
