DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela effort gets council’s support

CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City Council yesterday approved a resolution supporting the Department of Education in its nationwide launching of Brigada Eskwela, which will run from May 30 to June 4 this year.

Councilor Richard Francis Aznar sponsored the resolution to fully support DepEd in its school maintenance effort with the June 13 opening of classes in the elementary and high school levels fast approaching.

This year’s Brigada Eskwela carries the theme “Tayo Para sa Paaralang Ligtas, Maayos at Handa Mula Kindergarten Hanggang Senior High School.”

The program covers all education stakeholders who are encouraged to participate and contribute their time, effort and resources to the school maintenance effort in ensuring that all public school facilities are ready for the school opening in June.

It also invites groups or individuals from the national government agencies, local government units, private sector, international organizations; volunteers and other parties interested to troop to schools to help in the maintenance effort. — (FREEMAN)
