Jean Marvette A. Demecillo - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The families of 13 fatalities of super typhoon Yolanda in Bogo City have received cash assistance from the national government through the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC).

Bogo City Mayor Celestino Martinez, Jr. handed over the P10,000 to each of the families.

One of the beneficiaries, Candelaria Arpon, of Libertad, Bogo City, who lost his son after the typhoon could hardly expressed her gratitude of the assistance given by the government.

"Makalipay ang ilang hinabang, ug maubsan ang atong kasakit," said Arpon.

She will use the cash assistance in preparation of the interment of her son and the remaining amount for the repair of their devastated house.
