CEBU, Philippines - A total of 1,030 households benefited from P1 million Level 3 water system installed in barangays Malingin and Pandan in the northern town of Bogo.

Daphne Salimbangon, media liaison officer of Fourth District Representative Benhur Salimbangon, said the water system was installed through Salimbangon’s “Water System Program.” The water system will benefit 630 households in barangay Malingin and 400 households in barangay Pandan.

Meanwhile, a deep well is also being constructed in sitios Takdan-Takdan in barangay Polambato and sitio Libog, also through Salimbangon’s PDAF.

"It is our aim to provide all (the) households in the fourth district with water supply para ang tagbalay dili na magsige og kawos ug tubig sa laing barangay," Daphne Salimbangon said.

Daphne said her father has lined up several other water system projects in some other barangays in the district that have had difficulty in getting access to potable water, especially those in the mountainous areas.

Salimbangon has also allocated P1 million to rehabilitate roads in Bogo.

Meanwhile, fisher folk in barangay Nailon specifically in sitio Proper, sitio Plaza and sitio Panabilin were provided with a fisherman's stairway amounting to almost P150,000.

Earlier, Salimbangon said a P48 million worth of water system will also be put up in Daanbantayan town before the year ends.

Aside from this, P70 million has also been allocated for an airport in Daanbantayan, which is seen to complement the economic zone that will be established nearby. The Department of Transportation and Communication will finance the project. – Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
