T. Padilla brgy worker found positive for drugs

CEBU - An employee for the clean and green program of barangay T. Padilla tested positive for shabu during a drug test conducted by the Cebu City Office on Substance Abuse Prevention (Cosap) yesterday afternoon.

During the drug test, more than 50 tanods, garbage collectors and drivers of the barangay were made to submit urine samples.

Traces of shabu were found from the urine samples of the clean and green program employee.

The tests were made after the city government received reports that the number of barangay employees involved in illegal drug use has increased.

Cosap official Jose Felix Lazarte said results of the tests will be sent to the Philippine National Police crime lab for confirmation before releasing them to the concerned barangay.

Councilor Augustus Pe, chairman of the City Council committee on the dangerous drugs, said the worker found positive for shabu will be made to undergo rehabilitation. — Jasmin R. Uy/LPM   (THE FREEMAN)
