Boysen to donate paint for Garcia's heritage program

A paint company has pledged to donate painting materials to Governor Gwendolyn Garcia's heritage program.

Through the Provincial Heritage Council, Garcia is planning to repaint old houses along the south road especially the pre-Spanish structures as part of her program to restore the heritage and historical sites of Cebu.

"This would further add beauty at the countryside," Garcia said. The governor said that she is happy that Boysen Paint has indicated its interest to join the program by donating materials.

Garcia said the province and Boysen would soon enter into a memorandum of agreement for the joint undertaking. Garcia said she would start the repainting in the south where old houses abound. Old houses in the north would also be repainted. As soon as the repainting of old houses is done, old churches and convents would follow.

In line with the program, Garcia created the Provincial Cultural, Historical and Heritage Council to document all the sites. - Fred P. Languido
