UV Chorale, University of Hawaii Choir in JRG Halad Museum concert

CEBU, Philippines - The UV Chorale will have a back-to-back concert today with the University of Hawaii at Manoa Voices of Aloha, to be held at the HRG Halad Museum located at V. Gullas Street, Corner D. Jakosalem, Cebu City. Show starts at 7 p.m., with tickets priced at P50.

The UV Chorale will be conducted by Anna Tabitha-Piquero, while the University of Hawaii Choir will be conducted by the esteemed University of Hawaii Choral Director, Dr. Miguel Felipe.

This musical event will also mark the start of the First JRG Halad Choral Festival in Cebu from June 16-20, which will culminate with a church concert at the Saint Therese Church. The choral festival will include a three-day choral workshop under Dr. Felipe.

Participating school and community choirs in Cebu and in nearby regions will train and learn musical selections. Four choirs have already registered so far for the workshop which will perform in the culminating activity.

Dr. Felipe is Director of Choral Activities and Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. He also serves as director of music and liturgy at the Lutheran Church of Honolulu. He is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, Chorus America, the National Collegiate Choral Organization, the International Federation for Choral Music, and Pi Kappa Lambda.
