Up Close & Personal

CEBU, Philippines - Jomar Daligdig never joined a beauty pageant before so he does not know how to go about it. He stumbled upon this prestigious campus model search by amazing coincidence. He submitted his portfolio, was pre-screened for the pageant and eventually landed as one of the 10 finalists to compete in Mr. & Ms. Olive-C Campus Model 2011. Good luck indeed comes to those who deserve it.

Eighteen-year-old Jomar is a BS Marine Engineering student in University of Cebu-LM. When he learned that the pageant focuses on skin care, he never had second thoughts about joining this pageant where stardom begins with pimple-free and blemish-free complexion.

Although Jomar admitted that he can not see himself doing the runway in the near future, this does not hinder him from bagging the Mr. Olive-C Campus Model crown this year. Of course, he will still do his very best to win big since he already made it to the final 10. Also, he wants to make not only his supporters proud but also the school he represents.

Jomar wants to become a vocalist of his own band. He also wants to become a competent sea-farer. But what Jomar really wants is having his family around him, all in good health. This makes him happy and gives him a sense of contentment.

True, we are but passers-by on earth. Knowing this fact, Jomar fears to leave the world without showing his love to his parents. Jomar loves to surf the net, play online games like Special Force and Crossfire. He also plays badminton and tennis. Jomar has no trouble getting along with anyone.

Having his own orphanage for children is Jomar’s greatest dream. This serves as his inspiration to work hard to make his dreams come true. This, he said, will give real meaning to his life.

Will he be the next face of Mr. Olive-C Campus Model who will represent Cebu City in Manila for the national finals? Find out on August 29, 2011 at Pagcor Teatro in Waterfront Lahug.
