Endorsement : Robi Domingo reveals who he is with the new Nokia phones

-

Nokia’s “housemate”reveals that he loves taking photos of his family and friends and enjoys listening to acoustic and alternative songs. His address book is filled with numbers of his family and close friends, some of whom he regularly plays sports with. “My family is important to me so they’re the ones on my speed dial,” says Robi Domingo.

The former Pinoy Big Brother housemate is Nokia’s latest youth ambassador for today’s generation who constantly make statements of self-expression and individuality through the things they do, clothes they wear, the people they interact with, and the gadgets they use.

With the demanding lifestyle and new style trends, Nokia recently unveiled new products that heed the call of the youth for mobile phones that give them the features they need in the style that they want. “The Nokia 2680 slide and Nokia 7210 Supernova have what its users really need: a chance to wear their personalities on their sleeve,” said William Hamilton-Whyte, General Manager, Nokia Philippines.

The event had guests photographed at different personality face cut-out booths which made them select which personality they most identified with – from fashionista, music lover, to sports fanatic, which were lated printed on t-shirts. Caricature artists were on hand to draw the faces of the guests on journals and there was a mini fashion show of personalities with clothing provided by Bench.

“It’s more than just a phone, it’s who I am”

“Choosing Robi to take part in Nokia’s new campaign wasn’t a difficult decision. He exemplifies good moral values and serves as the perfect role model for today’s youth,” added Hamilton-Whyte.

The new marketing campaign shows that the contents of your mobile phone mirror your true self. With mobile phones becoming a vehicle for self expression, one press of a button or flick of a wrist can already let others know who you really are - when they look what you have in your phone.

Robi’s face can be seen in most of the Nokia advertisements all over the country – from the Nokia retail stores, to billboards, to even the MTR.

Substance in style

“My phone has become a part of my everyday life,” says Robi. “Whenever I accidentally leave my phone, I feel like my day is not complete.”

“If you look at what I have in my phone, you’ll see that I’m fond of taking photos of my family and friends. Sometimes I take pictures of things for my school reports,” shares Robi. With the Nokia 2680 slide and Nokia 7210 Supernova, users are able to easily snap fun moments with its built-in camera. When it comes to music, Robi also wants to stay on top of what’s in, while enjoying his own preferences. The Nokia 2680 slide and Nokia 7210 Supernova allows him to listen to music through the integrated MP3 player and FM radio. The Nokia 2680 slide also comes with an FM radio recorder, allowing him to record his favorite tunes for later listening.

“Sometimes I use my phone to check email,” adds Robi. Users of the Nokia 2680 slide need not break a sweat with its easy email set-up. It only takes a few hassle-free steps to access email - from going to the email application under messaging and entering the username and password - for the user to check their email inbox in Gmail or Yahoo. Robi also uses it to download ring tones, music, wallpapers, screensavers, and games.” Technologies like Bluetooth and MMS make sharing content easy, making sure that the user’s unique personality is never stuck on one phone.

Style for Self-Expression

Despite all the features packed into the Nokia 2680 slide and Nokia 7210 Supernova, Nokia believes that the most important part is the human experience. Robi agrees. “I really can’t remember when I wasn’t using a cellphone. Now I literally can’t live without one. I guess that’s proof of how much Nokia phones are part of my lifestyle.”

The Nokia 2680 slide and Nokia 7210 Supernova continue Nokia’s tradition of offering useful and stylish phones that do much more than just call and text — in a size that fits nicely in one’s pocket.
