RideHero app beefs up essential features

CEBU, Philippines — Public commuters mobile app Ride Hero has introduced more essential features designed to contribute to the ongoing battle against Coronavirus (COVID-19).

RideHero founder and chief executive officer Michael Cubos announced the introduction of more features such as; Online and automatic Passenger Manifest - Coops can get a list of coded passenger list for contact tracing purposes; Trips History of the buses; Speed Information like over-speeding; Bus real-time location; LGU Command Center, among others.

The LGU (local government unit) command center feature is designed to monitor feedback and reports of the citizens and through the Smart City App OpenGov.

According to Cubos, aside from contact tracing capability, the app is also planning to link with the Department of Health (DOH) and the LGUs on essential information on tracing.

Cubos said these are just initial features that the locally-developed app is launching, as it is constantly adding more enabling programs that would offer various solutions for fleet management, especially for transport cooperatives and organizations to management their buses more efficiently.

The mobile application helps commuters by showing them the location and capacity of buses plying the streets.

Last March, Cubos made a presentation to the Cebu City Government with Mayor Edgar Labella.

Available in both Android and iOS , the app allows commuters to know the location of buses when waiting for them at bus stops.

The application also shows both the names of drivers and passengers and the location of each bus within the routes.

Buses in Cebu City have been enrolled into the system so commuters can use it while the city is under community quarantine.
