Women’s Health Awareness on Breast Cancer
Did you know that 1 out of 8 women will be diagnosed of breast cancer in their lifetime? Breast cancer is the most predominant cancer among women in the Philippines and internationally. Anyone can get it. Young or old, rich or poor, with family history or not.
Among Asian countries, the Philippines has the No.1 incidence of breast cancer. With almost 25,000 new cases in November of last year, breast cancer ranks first in cancer incidence among all other cancers in the Philippines.
In pursuit for total development, employees of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) engaged in a Women’s Health Awareness seminar focused on Breast Cancer conducted by Dr. Cyril Alombro of Intellicare.
The seminar on Women’s Health Awareness is just one out of the 55 Health Talk Topics offered by Intellicare to its members under its Health Management and Preventive Care.
Promoting early breast cancer detection, the seminar encompasses education about breast cancer, breast self-exam (BSE), clinical exam, and mammography. Emphasized therein, early detection can magnify the chances of survival rates among diagnosed patients.
Breast cancer awareness is an effort to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of breast cancer through education on symptoms and treatment.
