China, Korean car brands fast developing niche market

CEBU, Philippines – New car brands from China, Chana and Yuejin as well as Korean brand SsangYong is fast developing a niche market in Cebu through its recent expansion.

In an interview with the Autocentral Incorporated Sales Supervisor Ryan Jude Y. Lim, he said that although their showroom is still under construction in A.S. Fortuna in Mandaue City, they already started intensifying their operations after venturing in the Cebu market a year ago.

Lim said that introducing new car brands in a new territory has been a difficult feat for their company especially at these times of tough economic grounds.

But he said so far they have slowly started to create stronger presence after selling some units in the area.

Lim said that Yuejin was introduced in Cebu in January of last year while Chana came last December and SsangYong is the latest comer having entered the market last January of this year.

So far, Chana sold three units since it started while SsangYong sold two units and Yuejin sold ten. — Rhia de Pablo
