MANILA, Philippines — The rise of the tourism sector has sprouted into the demand for accommodation from a number of target markets. This is an opportunity realized by an international hotel operator as it is set to open a new premium hotel in the country.

The 357-room Hilton Manila is set to open its doors to the public before the end of the year as it is nearing completion.

“Reservation is now available from Nov. 3. We hope to open a few days earlier,” Hilton Manila general manager Simon McGrath said.

The new hotel, which classifies itself as an upper upscale urban hotel, is located within the Resorts World Manila complex in Pasay City.

McGrath said the location of the property gives it an opportunity to tap between two target markets.

He explained that on weekdays, the hotel will have guests mostly from the corporate market, while it will transform into a more leisure-oriented development during the weekends to cater to the growing staycation market.

The Hilton Manila houses a total of 357 rooms, 207 are guest rooms; 66 are Guest rooms with pool view: 42 Executive rooms; 10 executive rooms with pool view; seven one-bedroom suites; 12 one-bedroom deluxe suites; six one-bedroom premier suites and one two-bedroom governor suite.

Each accommodation features Hilton’s signature Serenity-bed, complimentary pillow menu, a four-point bathroom with a separate bathtub and shower, Crab Tree and Evely bathroom amenities, a 55-inch smart LED TV and wired internet and WiFi.

Apart from guest rooms and suites targeted at the leisure-oriented market, the hotel also houses a total of six flexible meeting and event spaces.

This includes its ballroom, with a total floor area of 545 square meters and can accommodate up to 600 guests.

Also part of its facilities is an expansive resort-style free-form lagoon pool, complete with relaxing sun loungers and wet and dry play areas for kids, as well as  24-hour fitness center.

McGrath explained that the location of the hotel is also perfect for foreign corporates in the country doing business as it offers an “easy entry, easy departure” due to its proximity to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

“We are in the center of everything. Skyway provides good access to everything,” he said adding that the business districts of Makati and Bonifacio Global City are not too far away,” McGrath said.

“If you’re based here, you can do your business, come back and feel comfortable,” he added.

The general manager added that Hilton’s inventory of rooms will complement the existing hotel portfolio in the area, and as well as cater to the demand generated from the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibition (MICE) market.

“They don’t really have enough premium rooms at the top end of the market to really service the demand for that facility. As much as they’ve got some of their own brand and cheaper and not full service brands available. When you have a big event everybody wants a premium room,” McGrath said.

“So the addition of the inventory of rooms of Hilton will service and help stimulate further the MICE market,” he added.
