The all-new A6 - Audi's executive-class - wins EyesOnDesign Award for design excellence

MANILA, Philippines -  Audi is once again setting standards in the full-size class with the new 7th generation A6.

The new Audi A6 was awarded the EyesOn Design Award this year for design excellence in the category devoted to new vehicles headed for production which Audi has been received for the past 3 years.

This business sedan is being offered locally with a 6-cylinder engine with two variants in gas and diesel. One is a 3.0 liter TFSI petrol engine with 300 hp with torque at 440 Nm @2900 to 4500 rpm. The other is the 3.0 Turbo Diesel Injection with 245 hp with torque of 500 Nm@1400 to 3250 rpm. Both engines have a top speed of 250 km/h and are equipped with an S-tronic (7-speed) transmission. The quattro technology of permanent all-wheel drive for which Audi has pioneered for 30 years now is also standard for the A6.

The electromechanical power steering work together with the quattro sport differential to make the handling of the Audi superb, showing it’s fantastic agility desspite being a large sedan. Its interiors take after the Audi A8 with high standards like seats which includes climate control and massage function, individual air-conditioning controls for all four seats and a consumer friendly MMI (Multi Media Interface).

Another technology which Audi has pioneered is the use of innovative LED headlights which are powerful at the same time energy efficient. This is also available as standard in the A6.

There are several electronic accessories for safer driving such as head-up display within the driver’s field of vision, advanced assist systems such as side assist, parking assist where drivers can follow instructions from the DIS display getting into a space as well as getting out of parallel parking spaces too. These are options customers can choose to have.

The new Audi has a light body made up of aluminium hybrid materials – giving the all-new A6 around 20% aluminium components. The combination of aluminum and extremely tough, form-hardened steels produces a final vehicle that weighs some 15% less than a conventional steel-construction vehicle. As a result, the vehicle only weighs 80 kg and together with ultra-efficient engines, makes fuel consumption between 12 to 16 km/liter depending on the engine variant.

The new Audi A6 is even safer, more efficient and more comfortable than it’s predecessor. It is lighter and impresses with its updated design and numerous technologies, making it a business sedan that provides safety, luxury and driving enjoyment.

The new Audi A6 will become available starting July 29, 2011 at Audi Philippines showrooms located in Greenhills, Alabang and soon to open Global City. For more information on the new Audi A6 and other available Audi models visit any of the Audi Philippines showroom or contact 727-0381 to 85.
