MANILA, Philippines - Global Finance magazine has named AIG best global overall insurer at the 2013 Best Global Insurers awards last month. The US-based insurer was also named best insurer for property, environmental liability, directors and officers liability, employment practices liability, and cyber risk. Allianz AG won as best global casualty insurer, as well as for trade credit (Euler Hermes) and crime/fidelity. Lloyd’s (UK) was selected as best global political risk insurer, kidnap and ransom, and supply chain/trade disruption. Aon (UK) won as the best global insurance broker. In the Asia and Pacific region, the awardees were: AIG, best overall insurer/best property insurer/best crime-fidelity insurer; Jardine Lloyd Thompson, best insurance broker; and, Allianz, best general liability insurer. The results were drawn from more than 1,200 readers around the world, as well as input from a panel of 13 prominent risk management and financial executives at major companies headquartered in each geographic region of the world.
