PIRA, PIC spearhead insurance week

The Philippine Insurers Club (PIC) and the Philippine Insurers and Reinsurers Association (PIRA) will be holding forums, activities and an exhibit to increase awareness on the importance of being insured.

Non-life Insurance Consciousness Week (ICW 2008), posts the question: Insured ka na ba?” for the whole duration of the campaign.

Many first-world countries have already embraced the lifestyle of investing on non-life insurance while many Filipinos are still hesitant to spend a small percentage of their assets’ amount for the security of their properties.

On Oct. 21, distinguished speakers specializing on different areas of natural occurrences will be enlightening members of the PIC, PIRA and the media on the appalling realities and how to prevent these from damaging us completely.

The forum will discuss the truth about fire and natural disasters.

The following day, another forum will examine the options and precautions that can be taken for the increase motorcycle accidents in our country today.

These forums will all be held at the Insurance Institute for Asia and the Pacific on Ayala Avenue, Makati City.

The centrepiece of the week-long event will be the Insurance Consciousness Exhibit at Trinoma Mall in North Avenue., Quezon City from Oct. 23 to 25. This display, entitled “Insured Ka Ba?” will tell the message in a glance through photos, explanations, and fun comic strips on the slices of everyday life.

The ICW will culminate in a fun run on Oct. 26 at The Fort entitled “The Start of a New Life” will gather more than 3,500 runners.

Everybody is invited to invest in their health through joining the run that will be held on the streets of Bonifacio Global City. The Fort Striders Club Inc. is the organizer, and all proceeds from the event will go to its sponsored scholars.
