EEI names new CEO

Antonio

MANILA, Philippines — The Yuchengco Group of Companies’ (YGC) construction firm EEI Corp. transitions into a new leadership with its current COO Henry Antonio taking the helm as CEO starting May 1.

Antonio will replace Roberto Jose Castillo who is retiring after 17 years of service.

EEI, which is set to commemorate its 92nd anniversary, has P58 billion worth of unworked portion of existing contracts as of end-2022, which includes the backlog of Al Rushaid Construction Co. Ltd. (ARCC) amounting to P26.4 billion.

ARCC is EEI’s joint venture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“Our focus now is to build capacity by strengthening our recruitment efforts and expanding our technical capabilities,” Antonio said.

EEI maintains its leadership in the industry with major property development projects that include Season Residences, Light 2 Residences, Air Residences and Grand Hyatt Manila Gold Residences Tower 2.

The firm also has a portfolio of big-ticket infrastructure such as the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3, Malolos-Clark Railway, Metro Manila Subway packages and the newly awarded South Commuter Railway Project.

While EEI is approaching the year with cautious optimism amid economic uncertainties in the global and domestic front, the firm also sees catalysts that present new growth opportunities for construction services in both light and heavy industry.
