MANILA, Philippines — Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to mount flights to Basco, Busuanga, and Siargao from Manila, while maintaining flights to these destinations from its other hubs.

PAL said it would increase the number of flights to the three domestic destinations starting March 12 by operating 14 flights weekly between Manila and Basco, 35 flights weekly between Manila and Busuanga, and 21 flights weekly between Manila and Siargao.

Aside from Manila, PAL also has flights to Basco from Clark, which was launched in 2017.

“Having flights to these popular destinations from PAL’s various hubs provides travelers the flexibility to choose the route most convenient to their travel needs,” the country’s flag carrier said.

PAL said its De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft are being used for these routes.

The airline received this year the last two of the 12 Dehavilland Dash-8 aircraft orders it placed in 2017, bringing to 14 the carrier’s total De Havilland turboprop aircraft.

PAL said the aircraft is known for its fuel-efficiency and quiet engine, which is expected to give passengers “an ultra-comfortable ride.”

The country’s only four-star global airline has a network covering more than 30 domestic and 40 international destinations.
