ADB warns vs false legal representation

MANILA, Philippines — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is warning the public against false legal representation by an individual claiming to be a project management consultant for the multilateral bank.

In a statement on its website, ADB said its Office of Anticorruption and Integrity has received information than an individual representing himself as a certain “Atty. Michael Maynard De Grano Trinidad” and using the email address mm.trinidad@ymail.com is claiming to be a “projects management consultant.

He also allegedly used the address of the ADB headquarters in Manila to “establish credibility in his fraudulent activities and to collect payments for legal services.”

“ADB is not associated with Mr. Trinidad. ADB does not allow the use of ADB’s name or its office addresses in any communications not related to ADB. If you have received a message from Mr. Trinidad, please be aware that you may be a victim of a legal representation scam,” the multilateral lender said.

“If you suspect that you have been or are being targeted by scammers, please contact your local authorities,” ADB said.

ADB said its Office of Anticorruption and Integrity  leads the integrity initiatives of ADB through the conduct of investigations, project procurement-related reviews, integrity due diligence, and knowledge-sharing with ADB’s stakeholders.
