Robinsons Land Corp. expands tieup with UBE Express

MANILA, Philippines — Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) has expanded its partnership with premium airport bus service provider UBE Express of logistics giant Air21 with a new point-to-point (P2P) bus route going to the country’s main international gateway.

UBE Express is starting operations today in its newest hub in Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas, the second P2P collaboration between the two companies.

UBE Express will offer P2P bus service from Robinsons Galleria to the four terminals of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), and vice versa, with a fare of P70 per head.

“We started our partnership with the Robinsons Place Manila in September 2016 for the NAIA P2P route. Now, we are teaming up again with UBE Express to bring convenience more travelers,” RLC regional operations manager Darwin Renolayan said.

Robinsons Galleria is located in a business district in central Metro Manila.

RLC said the new route would be beneficial to travelling residents of surrounding cities such as Pasig, San Juan, Mandaluyong, and Rizal province, as well as business travelers visiting the district.

Two buses will initially operate the new route with varied schedules, with its earliest dispatch from the airport and from Robinsons Galleria at 6 a.m. The last trip from both locations is at 9 p.m.

Renolayan said P2P bus routes are fast becoming a good alternative to reach one’s destination at very minimal cost in the most convenient manner.

“The buses for P2P are brand new, wide-bodied and spacious. Each P2P bus can carry a volume of up to 37 passengers based on dispatch schedules, which accounts for at least six round trips daily. This would sum up to about 135 full capacity cars out of EDSA every day,” he said.

Renolayan said a Robinsons Sta. Rosa, Laguna to airport P2P bus route is also in the works in partnership with UBE Express.

He said UBE Express would also propose to the Department of Transportation a new route from one of the company’s malls in Cebu to the Mactan-Cebu International Airport and vice versa to address the worsening traffic situation there.

UBE Express president Garrie David said the company would launch new airport bus service routes to and from Alabang Town Center and Nuvali within the year.

David said the company has ordered 79 new buses to add its existing 60 fleet.

The buses, which costs around P10 million each,  is equipped with onboard WiFi, CCTV cameras, GPS technology, and easy access to persons with disabilities.
