BCDA sends team to Singapore for training on Clark Green City

MANILA, Philippines - The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is sending a 100-man delegation involved in the planning and development of Clark Green City to Singapore for an executive training program to ensure a world-class output for the 9,450-hectare project.

BCDA president and chief executive officer Arnel Paciano Casanova said human and social capital development is required to achieve the vision for a new metropolis that is environmentally sustainable, socially inclusive, economically competitive and technologically integrated.

“We expect that the training program will make us effective in helping improve lives of Filipinos through Clark Green City,” Casanova said.

Comprising the Philippine delegation are senior personnel of the BCDA and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Central Luzon office, as well as mayors and planning officers from the province of Tarlac.

BCDA said tuition and accommodation of the Philippine delegation would be funded by the Singapore-based Temasek Foundation, an organization which supports training and capability-training programs in public administration and disaster-response, health care, and education across communities in Asia.

“The two-week training per batch is expected to educate mayors, urban planners and members of BCDA with the wealth of experience of Singapore in urban planning, governance, human resource management, leadership and economic development,” the agency said.
