Duty Free now ISO-certified

MANILA, Philippines - Duty Free Philippines Corp. (DFPC) has been finally conferred with the international quality seal by TÜV Rheinland Philippines during the ISO 9001:2008 certification awarding ceremony held recently in Parañaque City.

The DFPC successfully met the requirements for the Quality Management System hence proving the agency’s commitment to provide the highest quality products and services to its customers, the international travelers, most especially the Balikbayans and overseas Filipino workers.

The attached agency of the Department of Tourism is proud to achieve this milestone after the rigorous processes to meet the ISO Certification requirements.

“We were at first doubtful that we will get this (ISO certification). But with our employees’ determination and hard work, we were able to improve our performance to provide quality products and deliver quality service to our customers,” DFPC chief operating officer Lorenzo “Enchong” C. Formoso said during the awarding ceremony.

TÜV Rheinland Philippines chief operating officer Tristan Loveres in turn commended the efforts of the DFPC team and the top management’s noble intention of ensuring a quality framework in place.

“Any quality initiative will not be realized without top management support”, Loveres said. “This is just the start of the journey. The greatest challenge is maintaining the quality management system,” he added.

ISO 9001:2008 specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization must demonstrate its ability to consistently provide services that meet customer needs and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement.
