Economic Team, BSP to hold briefing

MANILA, Philippines - The Economic Team and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Amando Tetangco, Jr. are conducting an economic briefing tomorrow, 9 a.m. at Summit Halls C & D of the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), the Investor Relations Office (IRO) said.

The Economic Team is comprised of Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, Economic Planning Secretary Cayetano Paderanga Jr., Budget and Management Secretary Florencio Abad, Trade and Industry Secretary Gregory Domingo, Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio Singson, Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala and Energy Secretary Jose Rene Almendras.

The briefing will be anchored on the theme “Good Governance for a Better Tomorrow”. Around 700 industry and business leaders and select key local government officials are expected to attend the briefing.

The briefing will include a report on the Philippine economy. It will be followed by a panel discussion and open forum to be moderated by National Competitiveness Council Private Sector co-chairman Guillermo Luz.

A press conference will immediately follow at Summit Halls E & F.

The IRO organizes the economic briefing twice a year to give the business community a clearer picture of what had happened during the past months and the opportunities and challenges for the coming year.
