Sitel Phl launches group-buying site for employees

MANILA, Philippines -  Sitel, a leading global provider of customer care outsourcing services, has recently launched a group-buying site exclusively for its employees in the Philippines. In partnership with the Buyanihan Group, Sitel’s site called Sitel Buyanihan (www.sitel.buyanihan.com) is the first of its kind in the business process outsour-cing industry.

Sitel Buyanihan’s main objective is to create added value by providing employees a diversified rewards system that boosts their buying power. The site offers exclusive deals and promotions to Sitel employees and family members. It also aims to encourage entrepreneurs within Sitel to sell products through the Sitel-Buyanihan Site.

Sitel general manager for Philippines, Australia and New Zealand Trevor Friesen led the planning and implementation of the project. “We are constantly thinking of ways to demonstrate the advantage of being a Sitel employee. This initiative is another example of our commitment to mean more to our employees,” according to Friesen. “We are happy to launch the project before the holidays to show our appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our associates,” he added.

The project garnered almost 800 sign-ups in the first 24 hours from launch. Many were excited to experience a secure online shopping experience that complements their schedules. “Overnight work is challenging for our staff, especially since many retailers don’t offer extended hours of operation, making shopping difficult.  Sitel’s Buyanihan partnership aims to bring convenience, ease and fun to shopping, at the same time maximizing buying power.”  said Sitel Asia Pacific vice president for human resources Haidee Enriquez.

With a vision to become the employer of choice, provide more jobs to Filipinos, and create the next generation of leaders, Sitel Philippines has implemented many innovations that enhance the competitiveness and growing demand of talent. In addition to Sitel Buyanihan, Sitel has successfully implemented Sitel Academy, a competency-building program which aims to increase the yield of people who join the BPO industry in support of the 2016 workforce goal of the ICT-BPO industry and the Philippine government’s thrust for job generation. Another first in the industry is the Sitel Magis Leadership Program, an innovative leadership program in partnership with Harvard Business School Publishing designed to help supercharge the potential and learning of high performance leaders in Sitel.
