Seminar set on best practices on financial controllership

MANILA, Philippines - The Center for Global Best Practices (CGBP) will hold a special CPE-accredited seminar entitled “Best Practices for Financial Controllers” on June 3 & 4, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Edsa Shangri-la Hotel in Mandaluyong City.

Some businesses don’t have financial controllers; others do but don’t have a clue or a complete idea about how the controllership function works, while many overlap this vital function with their CFOs. When the controllership function is used properly, it can have the greatest company-wide impact that can boost the profitability of any business. Every business should know how this function really works.

There is no school for controllership. This seminar is the only best practices program geared to help current and future financial controllers to mold them in their right role to maximize their potential, improve their soft and hard skills, and create real value for the benefit of their business organization.

The event will feature Kenneth G.C. Telford, who has an extensive background in controllership, finance and accounting, and was CFO of various multinational companies in the US and Canada, such as Deloitte & Touche, Denon Capital Strategies Ltd., Revonergy and Intelligent Communication Enterprise Corporation. It will also feature Mary Jane O. Rosales, CPA, CIA who will share her knowledge and extensive experience having spent most of her career handling finance, controllership and risk management functions in Petron Corp. She was the president of The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in the Philippines in 2008.

Details on this two-day, limited-seats-only event are available at CGBP’s website at www.cgbp.org. Interested participants may also call program officer Kay Gomez at (02) 842 7148 and (02) 824 7159, or email CGBP at kay@cgbp.org. Pre-registration is required.
