Australian franchise guru to hold basic, advance clinics

MANILA, Philippines - To foster profitable and positive partnerships between Filipino franchisors and their franchisees amid the global economic slump, the world’s top authority on managing people issues in franchising will hold basic and advance clinics on June 30 and July 3, respectively.

Greg Nathan, renowned psychologist, author and guru on franchise relationship, will offer a practical program for both emerging and mature franchise concepts with the end in view of creating a healthier culture and more prosperous system in Philippine franchising. 

Nathan’s visit to Manila is among the highlights of the 17th Philippine International Conference and Expo (PIFCE) that will run from June 29 to July 5. The Australian-based expert brings over 20 years of specialized research experience on the behavior of successful franchisors and franchisees.

The Franchise Relations Clinics, which has been designed for franchisor executives, operations managers, marketing executives and even CEOs, is a highly interactive program that combines case studies, group discussions, research findings and training. 

In particular, Nathan will provide franchisors helpful tips and techniques on how to build a more prosperous system with high level of franchisee satisfaction. He will be conducting two separate afternoon sessions for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) franchise systems as well as mature franchise systems.

The “Basic Course for MSMEs and Emerging Concepts” will take place on June 30, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the AIM Conference Center in Makati City. Topics that will be covered range from “selecting winning franchisees” to “boosting franchisee satisfaction” to “understanding the six stages of E-Factor.” Course fee is P10,950 for members of the Philippine Franchise Association (PFA). For non-members it is P16,900.

Meanwhile, the “Advanced Course for Mature Concepts” takes place on July 3, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. Some of the highly-interesting topics for discussion include “creating a healthy franchising culture through transparent, positive leadership”; “aligning the important relationship between brand and culture”; and “leading franchisees from the egocentric ‘me’ stage to the interdependent ‘we’ stage.” Course fees are P14,900 for PFA members and P16,900 for non-members.

Group discounts will be given out as follows: (i) a group of at least three will be entitled to a five percent discount; (ii) a group of at least five will be given one additional registrant; while (iii) a group of 10 will be provided two additional registrants.
