Leisure Farms holds public hearing

A public scooping hearing was conducted recently at LandCo Pacific’s Leisure Farms Marketing Office in Lemery, Batangas.

A hearing/consultation was held to discuss their Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). A requirement of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the hearing was also an appropriate forum for the stakeholders to raise issues and ask questions regarding Leisure Farm’s impact on the surrounding environment and community.

The hearing was attended by the Leisure Farms project team led by Alfred Xerez Burgos III; Pam Henares of Buro-Buro Farms and Francis Santamaria, Leisure Farms community development consultants as well as representatives from participating organizations and affected communities, namely the DENR, Department of Tourism, Philippine Coconut Authority, Landshaft Consultants, the National Water Resources Board Review Committee, Sangguniang Bayan, Barangay Masalis and Payapa Ibaba, and the Municipal Agricultural Office.

The successful hearing confirmed Leisure Farm’s commitment to taking care of the environment, and contributing to the development of the community and the agricultural industry.
