MANILA, Philippines — LA Revilla of the De La Salle Green Archers has been hurt and has missed some action in the 75th season of the UAAP men’s basketball tournament.
Rest assured though that he will be back and will try to lead the Taft-based squad to what has been an unfamiliar territory the last few years, the Final Four.
“We have ups and downs but overall, we’re happy where we are and I believe we haven’t played to our true potential yet,” the diminutive 5-foot-8 guard told philstar.com.
“Babalik ako, pinapahinga ko lang yung injury ko,” added the 22-year old spitfire, who has been out due to sprain.
Sporting a 7-4 card, La Salle is currently at fourth place in the team standings, just a game ahead of National University in what is deemed to be a tight race to the semifinals.
Nevertheless, Revilla is optimistic.
"Our short-term goal is to make the Final Four then from there, we’ll give it our best shot,” added Revilla.
A big Michael Jordan fan, Revilla admitted he is disappointed with his injury and hopes to come back soon.
“I’m happy with my performance so far tapos maganda ang standing namin. But then because of the injury, I’m worried somehow,” said Revilla, who is taking up AB Psychology.
“It’s the first time I got injured in the middle of the season so I’m disappointed with myself,” he added.
Once again, Revilla vowed to return.
“Pag balik ko babawi ako sa team,” he said.
