'Pakana siguro ng oposisyon': PDP-Laban pumalag sa FB takedown vs admin bets
MANILA, Philippines — Banas na banas ang partido ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na PDP-Laban sa sunud-sunod na pag-flag ng Facebook (Meta) Philippines sa opisyal na mga paskil ng ruling party — ito habang sinasabing posibleng maniobra ito ng oposisyon.
Paniwala PDP-Laban faction president at Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi, Lunes, posibleng maniobra raw ito ng oposisyon para "siraan ang legacy" ni Digong at maimpluwensyahan ang desisyon ng mga botante sa ika-9 ng Mayo.
"We have received reports from many of our candidates that their posts and shared news stories, especially those that highlight the achievements of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s administration were flagged and taken down as violative of Facebook community standards," ani Cusi.
"It is alarming that a foreign media company is blatantly controlling and censoring in violation of our freedom of speech and the right to information and expression of not only our citizens but as well as many of our government institutions. This is a direct attack on the rights and sovereignty of Filipinos."

Hinamon ng partido ang Facebook na manatiling "neutral at apolitical" sa nalalabing mga araw ng kampanya bago ang araw ng eleksyon, kahit hindi nangangahulugan ng political bias ang pagsunod nito sa sarili community standards.
Ngayong Abril lang nang ianunsyo ng Meta, parent company ng FB, na tinake down nito ang daan-daang accounts at pages sa Pilipinas na nagsasagawa ng "malicious activities" sa social media bago ang May elections.
Ilan sa mga tinanggal ng Meta sa social media ang ilang pages ng supporters ni presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., Digong, atbp. Ilan din sa mga tinanggal sa FB ang mga accounts na minementena ng New People's Army, ang armadong hukbo ng Communisty Party of the Philippines, na siyang kaaway ng gobyerno ni Duterte.
Si Bongbong — na inendorso ng PDP-Laban nina Cusi — ay una nang tinukoy ng independent fact-checkers bilang pinakamalaking benepisyaryo ng online disinformation.
Pebrero lang nang iulat ng Tsek.Ph na si Bise Presidente Leni Robredo, ang presidential candidate ng oposisyon, ang "pinakamalaking biktima ng disinformation."
Pati government institutions damay
Ayon naman kay Cabinet Secretary Melvin Matibag, na secretary general din ng PDP-Laban, "unethical" at "labag sa pambansang seguridad" ang "censorship" at community standards ng Facebook.
Reklamo niya, na-flag at block din pati ang Philippine News Agency ng gobyerno: "This flagging, blocking and censorships affect the Filipinos’ freedom to choose and vote in favor of the candidates they truly believe in," ani Matibag.
"I was told that Facebook employs third-party fact-checkers to monitor and censor posts that are allegedly against community standards. Who are these fact-checkers that even official government press statements and legitimate news stories are being censored?"
Una nang ikina-badtrip ng Department of the Interior and Local Government ang pag-restrict ng Facebook sa post ni National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr., matapos niyang igiit na na-infiltrate na raw ng mga komunista ang Konggreso.
Kilala sina Esperon sa pag-red tag sa mga progresibo, na una nang tinawag ng Commission on Human Rights at United Nations bilang peligroso.
