National artist Virgilio Almario bagong NCCA chair

MANILA, Philippines — Isang poet, literary historian at national artist ang bagong pinuno ng National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) matapos piliin ng Board of Commissioners ng komisyon.

Si Virgilio Almario ang mangunguna sa NCCA mula ngayong taon hanggan 2019.

Makakasama ni Almario ang mga kinatawan ng lehislatibo, ehekutibo at mga mula ng pribadong sektor.

"Chairman Almario continues to champion language and literature as the chairman of Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino. He also was executive director to the NCCA from 1998 to 2001," nakasaad sa website ng NCCA.

Binati naman ng Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) si Almario.

"Pagbati kay Tagapangulo at Pambansang Alagad ng Sining Virgilio S. Almario sa pagkakahirang na Tagapangulo ng Pambansang Komisyon para sa Kultura at mga Sining," pahayag ng KWF.

Pinangalanan naman ang iba pang miyembro ng board ng NCCA na sina:
