Labella may pagsalig ni Rama
CEBU, Philippines – May pagsalig gihapon si Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella kang Bise Mayor Michael Rama bisan gikwestiyon ang iyang executive order nga nagmugna sa Sinulog Governing Board.
Gipasabot ni Labella nga gusto lang niya maseguro ang accountability ug transparency sa panahon sa mga kalihukan sa Sinulog Festival nga gidumala sa Sinulog Foundation Inc. kinsa si Rama ang chairman.
“There is no suspicion whatsoever. It’s not a matter of suspicion. It’s a matter of performing the duty of accountability and transparency. I have my full trust and confidence,” sigun sa mayor.
Labot sa giingong wala konsultaha si Rama sa pag-umol sa Board, si Labella niingon nga prerogative kini sa mayor. Giklaro ni Labella nga si Rama mahimo gihapon nga kabahin sa Board tungod kay adunay lima ka board of trustees gikan sa SFI nga maapil.
Ang SFI ang nag-umol sa Sinulog Festival sukad 1984.
“It has been done but I don’t think it’s correct that a foundation can call agencies of government. It should always be a local government unit. That is what is provided for under the Local Government Code. Just because it has been practiced, we will continue practicing it,” dugang ni Labella.
Si Rama magpatawag og tigum sa SFI Board of Trustees aron hisgutan ang “seryuso nga butang” sa paghimo sa Sinulog Governing Board.
